This tradition dates from the time of the colony, since the missionaries taught to the natives to cultivate radishes of an extraordinary size. This tradition begins in a district of called Oaxaca the Trinidad of the Orchards because its temple is dedicated to the Santísima Trinidad. At the moment the radishes come from San Antonino Castillo Velasco and other communities. Authentic verbena, of contained singular and strong popular flavor, that is verified during the last hours of day 23 of December in the central socle of the city, in front of the Palace of Government.
